YVONNE LOVELL - Ballet,
Tap, Pointe, Musical Theater, Liturgical, & Pre-School
Born
and educated in London, England, Mrs. Lovell was a professional
actress and dancer appearing on stage and television there. Stage
Door Dance was founded by Yvonne Lovell in 1980.
Having completed all the required Royal Academy of Dancing ballet
examinations for children, many with a passing grade of Honors, she
became a member of the Royal Academy when she was sixteen. At that
time she also became an Associate member of the Imperial Society of
Teachers of Dancing, the most prestigious organization in Great
Britain, known for it's tap, ballet and theatrical dancing. Mrs.
Lovell won the All England gold medal for tap dancing when she was
twelve years old.
After coming to the US she passed more examinations to become a
member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing and Dance
Educators of America. Local study includes such notables as Buster
Cooper, David Howard, Honi Coles, Van Porter, Jay Fagan and Fred
Kelly. Very active in the dance community, Mrs. Lovell has served
on the Board of Directors of the (Dallas) Dance
Council. Mrs. Lovell has also taught Master Classes
in Tucson, Arizona and courses at Cedar Valley College.
